Discover Guayaquil

Guayaquil is a bustling, busy and dynamic metropolis, historically the engine-house of Ecuador’s economy: from here the nation’s wealth is shipped abroad and the world’s goods enter the country. As a result, it’s a proud port city, in complete contrast to the chilly nights of Quito in the Andes.

You’ll find an attractive riverside walk, good museums, handsome plazas, fun parks, some historic quarters, fantastic seafood cuisine and a dynamic cultural scene, all complimented by an irrepressible coastal joie-de-vivre.

Our Guayaquil extensions include airport transfers to and from a hotel of your choice. We recommend the handsome Hotel del Parque for its elegant rooms and facilities, first class service, and gourmet cuisine. We can also find other hotels that work with your itinerary and needs.

ACCOMMODATION

We recommend Hotel del Parque for its elegant rooms and facilities, first class service, and gourmet cuisine. Placed by the river, its unique location within the Historical Park open air museum offers a secluded quiet spot within reach of the city’s tourist attractions. We can also find other hotels that work with your itinerary and needs.

HOTEL DEL PARQUE, GUAYAQUIL

Set in the botanical gardens of Parque Historico, this 19th century boutique hotel serves as a serene oasis in the bustling coastal city of Guayaquil. Astonishingly it was originally located in the city center, but after being threatened with destruction in the 1980s, it was moved, piece-by-piece to the banks of the River Daule. Here it was reassembled and restored to its former glory.

Only a 10-minute drive from the airport, yet close to restaurants and shops, Hotel del Parque makes an ideal first stop after a long international flight. With all the modern luxuries that you would expect in a Relax & Chateau property, including an excellent dining experience, this is the perfect spot to refuel and reenergize before continuing your journey to the Galapagos Islands.

Further afield

HACIENDA LA DANESA
A 1,200-acre, coastal plantation nestled on the coast, within the hacienda’s lands one finds teak tree forests, fields of cacao and three rivers. It’s an ideal place to get away for the day and relax, while learning about the activities that the 165-year old estate is undertaking.

CHURUTE MANGROVES
Take a journey to the Churute Mangroves Ecological Reserve, located 30-miles from Guayaquil. The reserve spans 123,500 acres, and boasts the largest expanses of red and black mangroves in the country. The all-day trip starts in the morning with a boat ride down the coast and into the tributaries of the reserve.
