Pre- & Post-Cruise Safaris

A land-based stay at Galapagos Safari Camp is a wonderful way to upgrade a Galapagos cruise, and to enjoy some time on terra firma either before or after your cruise.

Choose from our Active or Relaxing Pre/Post Cruise Extensions:

Active: Many cruise itineraries do not include visits to the Charles Darwin Research Station or the highlands of Santa Cruz, nor do they reach Tortuga Bay on the island’s southwest coast. Our Active Pre/Post Cruise Extension is an ideal complement for guests who enjoy more active pursuits, such as hiking, biking, scuba-diving or surfing, which cruises rarely accommodate.

Relaxing: Our Relaxing Pre/Post Cruise Safari is designed for those who want to simply rest and enjoy the Camp’s facilities and cuisine before or after a Galapagos cruise. It is ideal for guests who wish to recuperate after a long journey to the islands, or after an intense cruise itinerary before heading home. Enjoy the natural setting of the highlands and the space to slow down and reset.

Active Stay: At A Glance

Day 1: Airport or dockside pick up & highlands

Day 2: Full day of activities of your choice

Day 3: Departure day … or extend your stay

Guests are provided with a private car and driver, along with a certified naturalist guide (a requirement for entering the Galapagos National Park) .

One of the advantages of our Active Safari is the flexibility it offers on arrival. Your host and guide will discuss the available options with you and suggest where to go and what to see based on your interests and energy levels each day.

You are free to explore at your own pace and adjust your itinerary as you go. Please note that our main Safaris are personalised during the booking process, as they include boat trips and other activities that must be coordinated in advance.

You may select one of the following options. More details on each itinerary will be shared during your stay, and if you would like to discuss them with your Safari Designer in advance, they will be happy to provide further information.

RELAXING

Relaxing Stay: At A Glance

Our Relaxing Pre/Post Cruise Safari is designed for those who want to simply rest at Camp in comfort and peace, surrounded by nature and wildlife, eat excellent food, and be looked after by our team.

Day 1: Airport or dockside pick up, transfer to Camp: Your guide will meet you at the airport or yacht drop-off point and transfer you to Galapagos Safari Camp where you can savour the beauty of slow-life. Our team will take care of your needs and you can enjoy freshly prepared dishes for lunch and dinner.

Day 2: Relax at Galapagos Safari Camp: Take time to relax at the camp and let our team spoil you. Should you feel the need to explore, you can enjoy Santa Cruz independently or we can assist you organising activities.

Day 3: Departure day: After breakfast, your guide will drive you to the airport or dock for the next part of your journey. … or extend your stay

Booking Your Cruise

We appreciate that there are a bewildering number of cruises offered in the Galapagos Islands. If you would like us to help guide you, we can make recommendations.

As a tour operator, we can also book your cruise together with your Pre-/Post-Cruise Safari, including any transportation and/or accommodation you may need on the mainland, as well as domestic flights to the islands, ensuring a smooth trip from start to finish.
