A land-based stay at Galapagos Safari Camp is the best upgrade to a Galapagos cruise, and can be taken either before or after your cruise.

Choose from our RELAXING or ACTIVE Pre- or Post-Cruise Safari Extensions, and don’t forget that we can customize any option.

Our RELAXING PRE/POST CRUISE SAFARI is designed for those who want to simply rest and enjoy the camp’s facilities and cuisine before or after a Galapagos cruise. It is ideal for guests who wish to recuperate after a long journey to the islands, or after an intense cruise itinerary before heading home.

Our ACTIVE PRE/POST CRUISE SAFARI is designed for those who wish to explore the lesser known sites of Santa Cruz Island that often aren’t included in cruise itineraries. Guests are provided with their own private car and driver, as well as their own private naturalist guide. The latter is a mandatory requirement to enter the Galapagos National Park.

The beauty of our Active Safari is that it is completely personalized upon arrival. Your host and guide will discuss the various options with you, and advise you on where to go and what to see based on your interests and energy levels for the day.

You are free to explore the island at your own pace, and adjust your itinerary as you go. (Please note that our main Safaris are personalised during the booking process as they include boat trips and many other tours and activities that need to be coordinated in advance).

As with all our Safaris, additional days can be added if required.

Booking Your Cruise

We appreciate that there are a bewildering number of cruises offered in the Galapagos Islands. If you would like us to help guide you, we can make recommendations. As a tour operator, we can also book your cruise together with your Pre-/Post-Cruise Safari, including any transportation and/or accommodation you may need on the mainland, as well as domestic flights to the islands, ensuring a smooth trip from start to finish.

Active Pre/Post Cruise Extension: Sample Itinerary

This 3-day, 2-night safari allows you to enjoy the Camp while exploring the highlights of Santa Cruz.

Not all cruise itineraries include a visit to the Charles Darwin Station or the highlands of Santa Cruz, for example, and none include the famous beach of Tortuga Bay on the southwest coast. If you love active sports — like hiking, biking, snorkeling or surfing — which cruise itineraries don’t cater for, our Active Safari Cruise Extension is ideal.

As with all our itineraries, they are fully customised according to your interests and needs. The key difference is that the ACTIVE SAFARI is planned directly with your host and private guide during your stay (as opposed to with your Safari Designer at the time of booking). This allows you to explore Santa Cruz at your own pace and with greater flexibility.

Your guide will meet you at the airport or yacht drop-off point and transfer you to Galapagos Safari Camp where you can savour the beauty of slow-life. Our team will take care of your needs and you can enjoy freshly prepared dishes for lunch and dinner.

DAY 2

RELAX AT THE CAMP AND BE CARED FOR!

Take time to relax at the camp and let our team spoil you. Should you feel the need to explore, you can enjoy Santa Cruz independently or we can assist you organising activities.

DAY 3

TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT OR TO BOARD YOUR CRUISE

After breakfast, your guide will drive you to the airport or dock for the next part of your journey.
